NEWSLETTERS

The August 2002 Issue

Welcome to another edition of the Express newsletter!

By now many of you should be receiving your copies of the latest release by the band called “Welcome To Blue Island”. We would love to hear your comments up on the “message board” that you can access from: www.eznexpress.com or through Jeremy’s site at: www.enuffznuff.com as well. I have three locations that you can purchase it from up on my site right on the main page and listed in this newsletter as well.

News from the Z’nuff camp:

Donnie has been working with none other than Vikki Foxx on Donnie's solo material and Donnie Vie & Warren DiMartini (of Ratt) both confirmed to me that they have written songs together.  Warren is originally from Chicago, so I think they see eye to balls and will work well together.

Chip also mentioned that Japan had big plans for them on their promotional tour...they were putting up big bucks to promote the show. As some may know by now the promo tour has been pushed back to August 10th last time I talked to Chip due to Donnie’s grandfather falling ill again. Our thoughts and prayers are with him!

When I spoke with Chip recently he said Tom Feeley is working for him (personally) even though Obi has come onboard. Makes sense to have one guy on the west coast and one on the east. Tom has been very busy with the NFL anyway so this gives him more freedom to do what he can for Chip. Also they still are unsure of what song they will be doing for the George Harrison tribute disc as of yet for Koch Records.

A North American deal to release the new record is being worked on and hopefully it will happen soon. Chip said that they are working on it but for now you can get the Japanese import. I know Jim from RAM in Wisconsin and he will have ample copies in stock for anyone that wishes to buy a copy that needs their “fix”! Go to: http://www.rammusic.com or they have a phone// fax number that is the same at: 262-820-9582.

I also got my hands/ears on a Final Mix of "Welcome To Blue Island" from Chip.  The final track line up for Europe and Japan should look like this:

Saturday
Can't Wait
Good Times
Sanibel Island (It's Outta Control)
I've Fallen In Love Again
Roll Me
Roller Bladin' In The Shade
Man Without A Heart
Z'Overture
Zentimental Journey
The Sun

The bonus Track is:

"July 1970" (This is Donnie singing Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer in July of 1970.  It sounds like it was pulled from a tape recorder or off of some sort of acetate)

Chip also said they were rushed to get the CD's cover out, so the picture on the inner sleeve has the 4 of them buck naked!  Chip said that they had originally vetoed this cover, but because of the rush for Japan...he sent it out anyway.  The cover will not be the same for the American release.

Some places to order the Japanese release of “Welcome To Blue Island” for now are:

http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/index.asp

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/, which are in the land of the rising sun. Japan!

Incidentally, the new release of Welcome To Blue Island entered the chats at #90 on the Pony Canyon label with over 3000 copies sold it it’s first week! Good start and the more people hear it and know about its release the higher it will climb! Their highest charting in Japan thus far has been Paraphernalia, which reached #26 on the Japanese charts with over 26,000 copies sold there alone.

The best one in the states again is:

http://www.rammusic.com

If you would like to see an exclusive picture of the band playing 3 piece without Donnie in Elgin at Rock Fest go to: www.eznexpress.com and go to the “fan photo” section and click on Jeff’s pictures and it’s at the bottom.

A few side notes:

If you go to http://www.gemm.com they usually has a lot of copies of both the debut and Strength for sale as well at reasonable prices, without having to go through the bidding headache.

Also former Ace Frehley’s (Kiss) Comet guitarist and vocalist Richie Scarlett has a new disc out that was available at the Kiss Convention here in New Jersey with a KILLER version of Donnie’s “Fly High Michelle” on it for anyone that can find it on line. He’s an old friend of Donnie’s and I met him in the 80’s in Fort Lauderdale when he first started working with Ace. He does the song justice!

Look for “Gray Matter” which is the second release by “Radio Earth” on the Stoney Records label coming sometime in mid to late September. It will include a redone version of Chip’s “My Heroin” from Tweaked with a heavy edge to it. Chip digs it so I hope you will too! Websites to purchase the disc will be: www.stoneyrecords.com and www.tecworks.net.

That’s all we have for now folks and don’t forget to buy the new CD. You won’t regret it!

Special thanks to Jeff O. for his contributions in this newsletter!

Till next time…
