The September
issue/ trivia winners
Hi there Znuff fans across the globe!
I wanted to start this issue off by thanking everyone who
participated in the trivia contest. Many of you kept trying, which I
appreciate and we had 3 winners who will receive videos of the band
of different shows or a video chronology. The winners are: Erin
Radcliffe (was there ever a doubt) Dianne Darr and Ken Reichard. Two
from my state of PA and none from the Midwest, which I'm surprised
at. The answers to the trivia are as follows:
Donnie's idol is his grandfather! Everyone thought it was John
Lennon, which was the obvious but wrong answer. Chip`s favorite
cigarettes are Dunhill's (blue ones to be specific). Ricky wore a
decanter around his neck with lavender in it and Monaco was a guitar
tech for Mr. Big's Paul Gilbert.
As you know the tour ended almost a month early due to an injury to
Poison's Bobby Dall who plays bass for the band. He is recovering
fine but was unable to continue and the band would not replace their
mate for the 3 remaining weeks due to their loyalty to him. For you
fans on the westcoast that missed out again the band sends their deepest regrets as they were looking forward to touring California
but there wasn't enuff time to put together a mini tour with so
little time to do scheduling. Donnie on the other hand had his share of accidents as well and voice problems but kept on going to his
credit. He is doing well and preparing for the Z Records show in
Mannheim Germany. It's the band's new label abroad and an important
gig for them and the label to showcase their bands. Ricky did the
whole tour with a broken hand so you know these guys are warriors!
Nothing is etched in stone about future shows in Europe or in the US
but will be posted as soon as anything comes up. You can check
www.eznexpress.com under "New
Things" and a link will give you the
latest updates as anything arises. Also the band is busy finishing
off tracks for their 11th release as yet untitled and no release date
as of yet is known. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for any news. It
should be a slightly different then past releases and a good one!
There are some additional fan photos on the site as well in case any of you are interested in checking them out and our
European Consigliore Mike will be doing a show report from the
Germany show that I will put up as a `bonus' in the middle of the
month.
Also for any of you Metal Edge readers the October issue has a
picture of the band on page 48 with Drowning Pool frontman Dave
Williams, a picture of the other three acts and a paragraph about the
Glam Slam Metal Jam on 54 with a blurb about Enuff Z'nuff in it and a
page dedicated to Spitfire artists with `10' and 11 of it's other
artists on page 37. So don't fret, the band is still on the label as
some have questioned and Spitfire taking out a full page to advertise
was surprising to me in light of their lapse of promotion for the
band.
Now we have compiled a synopsis of the tour with quotes from fans,
press, the band and management for you. It's fairly long and some of
this is old news now but that's what a synopsis is for! You can skip
around as everything is laid out quite nicely for everyone to read
their favorite moments...

~~March 9, 2001:
The "EZN Public" receives first official word of their spot on the
Glam Slam Metal Jam tour, from the band's manager Tom Feeley:
Enuff Z'nuff has just signed onto the upcoming POISON tour for this
Spring/Summer. From information that we have received, the tour is
scheduled to begin around the third week of May, and is slated to hit
much of North America and venture into Canada. Also playing on the
bill will be Warrant. Enuff Z'nuff has not yet received the
itinerary, but will send it out as soon as it is received.

PRESS:
POISON ANNOUNCES "GLAM SLAM METAL JAM"
Multi-platinum rock group, POISON, kicks off their 2001 World
Tour, "Glam Slam Metal Jam," Memorial Day weekend in Texas at The
Amarillo Coliseum.
Poison. will bring with them special guests Warrant,
Quiet Riot and Enuff Z'nuff
written by Laurie Gorman
~~The tour kicks off on May 26, in Houston, TX.
The Bullet Boys, Great White and Vince Neil join the line-up to help
kick off the first few dates.
Press:
After being voted VH-1's Best Hair Band this year, Poison took the
road with Quiet Riot, always underplayed Enuff Z Nuff and oddly
enough, the band credited with destroying glam metal, Warrant.

EZN fan quote:
"If opening night was any indication, the rest of the tour will make
this the party of the summer!"
Press:
Enuff Z Nuff, considered to be an under-rated act 10 years ago, had
little in the way of an audience when they went on at 6:15 p.m.
~~canoe.ca Toronto, Sat. July 21
EZN fan quote:
".All in all it was a fun show.... I'm just bummed cause Znuff, IMO,
is better than any band up there, but no one will know that with such
a short set & no kudos as far as sound & stage go. Life just isn't
fair."
~~ The tour takes off and sweeps across the south, southeast, and
east coasts, before traveling inland, playing to hungry, eager,
enthusiastic fans, re-sparking old interest, and winning over legions
of new followers at each stop.
EZN Fan quotes:
"I'm new here. I saw Enuff Z'Nuff for the first time at Hershey last
night!! I'm in love!! Hahaha. They were so incredible!!!."
"I have been a fan of these guys for years. Finally getting to see
them was like my Birthday, Honeymoon, Pay Day and an ass load of
Christmases all rolled into one!"
Press:
Bandanas and threadbare jean jackets held together with Kiss, Motley
Crue and Guns `N' Roses patches swayed alongside sequined hot pants
screaming at the seams.
Leopard skin halter-tops strained to contain their cargo, platform
heels snapped on the asphalt and faded Ozzy Osbourne T-shirts hiked
above midriffs they once covered completely.
In a word, it was glamorous.
The show boasted Enuff Z'Nuff, Warrant, Quiet Riot and Poison on a
glam-metal dream bill
That in the 80's would have been playing stadiums.
~~ Scranton Times, June 21
EZN fan quotes:
"It's good to see that Chip & Donnie are dressing like rock stars
again ... I won't mention the rest."
"Monaco was rocking the leather pants & plain t-shirt. Chip took his
magical time machine back to Pimp-time for my show (Sweet Sunny Gem
What was on his head????). Donnie was Donnie, grabbing' the `old bean
bag & choking on the pollen in the air."
Press:
If you thought a show that featured bands like Poison, Warrant, Quiet
Riot, and Enuff Znuff would attract only the teeny-boppiest of
teenyboppers, you were dead wrong.
Singer Family Park in Manchester rocked last night and there was no
age prerequisite. Glam-metal fans from ages in the single digits to
forty-something's turned out on a steamy night to see if the '80s-
rock bands still had it.
~~New Hampshire Union Leader June 20, 2001
EZN fan quotes:
"Z'nuff aren't lookers, they're artists... different caliber than the rest of the acts on the glam slam tour... different entirely... with
them, I always believed the music came first..."
~~ After a short hiatus in mid-July, the bands continue criss-
crossing the midwest.
Fan Feedback, www.warrant2k.com:
"(First) act was Enuff Z'Nuff supporting 10 albums as they
mentioned. The were allotted a 5-6 set list and one of the tunes was
a Beatles cover "Revolution." They also made references to Spinal
Tap, which put a smile on some faces. A couple of times, the bass
player would lie down on the stage and wrap his bass around a
security guard and play over him for a little crowd entertainment or
for his own. (6/24-Duluth, MN)
~~Then, on July 21, amid the whirl of a seemingly successful, if not
nostalgic nationwide tour, an unfortunate mishap lands the
effervescently energetic Donnie Vie in the hospital emergency room:
Press Release 01-07-24
ENUFF Z'NUFF FRONTMAN INJURED DURING SHOW IN COLUMBUS New York- July
25, 2001- DONNIE VIE, lead singer for the power rock band, ENUFF
Z'NUFF was injured after a fall from the stage during their
performance at the Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus Ohio on July 21.
ENUFF Z'NUFF is out supporting their latest CD "10", and is part of
the GLAM SLAM METAL JAM tour, along with Warrant, Quiet Riot and
Poison. The fall occurred as the band was performing towards the end
of their set, when the barefoot Vie jumped from a monitor, landed on
one foot at the edge of the stage, and fell into the orchestra
section of the amphitheater. Paramedics quickly arrived, treated
Donnie, and rushed him to the hospital, where X-rays revealed a
fractured heel, and 2 fractured ribs. In true Enuff Z'nuff fashion,
while at the hospital, Donnie was busy converting the paramedics and
other patients into fans. He was reported to be in great pain the
following night during their performance in Pittsburgh. Injury has
been no stranger to this band during this tour. Drummer Ricky Parent
broke his hand prior to the start of the tour during a motorcycle
accident, when a car cut him off while riding near his home in Chicago. Doctors will be treating his hand once the tour is complete
in September. When questioned about the injuries on this tour, EZN co-founder Chip Znuff sighed and said "Ricky's touring with a broken
hand, Donnie with broken ribs, Monaco with a broken heart, and me
with broken promises, but we're still going out there and playing,
thanks to the grace of God!"
~~ The "Toronto Tumble" does little to slow down the surge, as the
band presses forward with a few mid-west shows, gearing up for their
(much anticipated) assault on the West coast.
Fan quotes:
"Good to hear that (Donnie) is putting on a brave face and continuing
with the other gigs. These crazy guys do seem to get themselves into
some scrapes!
All in the name of Rock N' Roll..."
"Take it easy out there guys! -- I'm sure those that haven't seen the
tour yet
would like to see y'all in one piece(peace) J."
~~ Unfortunately, Donnie's stage dive would be only the precursor to
a more serious injury suffered by Poison's bassist, Bobby Dahl. If
these things happen in "3's", there will be no way of knowing what
the 3rd is, since the Glam Slam Metal Jam is cancelled immediately
following Bobby's back injury.
Fans on the West coast produce a collective "it can't be true" gasp,
as they read the first press offerings.
Press:
POISON BASSIST SUFFERS SPINAL CORD INJURY
TOUR DATES CANCELLED
Poison's "Glam Slam Metal Jam" 22 remaining summer concert dates have
been cancelled as Poison's bassist Bobby Dall was rushed by ambulance
to Omaha's University Of Nebraska Medical Center where he underwent
emergency surgery on his back from an injury suffered while
performing onstage.
From Enuff Z'Nuff Management
I regret to officially inform you all that the boys are on their
way home from KC, and the tour (Glam Slam Metal Jam) will not be
continuing.
~~Initial hope is that EZN and Warrant will attempt to rack up a few
dates on the West coast.
.In other (message board) posts, you have been asking about the Shack
show (in California)... Right now, we don't know. All this is too
new, and we are investigating to see if we can secure other shows in
the area to make it feasible to travel to CA to do the show. Once the
guys come home, we can discuss it in better depth. Normally, with a two-week lead in, it is impossible to secure a show, much less have
time to promote it. But, let's face it, stranger things have happened
on this run.
--Tom
~~But soon the rumors are quelled once and for all.
Enuff Z'nuff will be heading home after tonight's show in Idaho.
Warrant's management tried very hard to save the tour, but was
hitting brick walls with promoters everywhere they went. We wish to
express our appreciation to them for a valiant attempt to keep us all
going.
We apologize to all of our family on the west coast who were waiting
to see us. We are working closely with our booking agents to make up
those dates at another time.
--Tom
EZN fan quotes:
"I'm a CALIFORNIA fan that was so looking forward to the
shows this week. Just wanted to THANK YOU for doing all you could to
keep the band on the road, and/or possibly getting the band another
show here in CALI.
Though I'm disappointed the tour did not reach my home state, I am
still very happy for the band. Cuz they still toured most of the U.S.
for the 1st time in a very long time. The band played cities they had
not visited in years.
In my eyes, the tour was still a success(minus a few injuries).
Thanks Tom and to EZN!!!."
"Hey, I know people are depressed about possibly not being able to
see the guys live, as I would be as well. But, lets look at the
positive side of this matter. If they aren't touring as much, chances
are good that we'll have a new album to listen to that much quicker.
Maybe after that album is released if we are lucky they can land
another good-sized tour that reaches the whole country again!!!!."
"LONG LIVE Z'NUFF!!!!."
There was a lot of teamwork that was involved with this tour,
starting with the contacts Chip had with Poison, filtering onto Bill
Aucoin and his expertise, Mark Dinos and I handling the duration of
the tour, Jeremy and Keavin dealing with the information part of it,
Spitfire for their support, Rob Gill for radio interviews, Carol Kaye
for media interviews, and finally Warrants management with trying to
keep it going. I would also like to give a huge Thank You to one
unsung hero in all of this. "AMSTY" Mike, who was the tech/asst road
manager while it was all going on. One man to handle many jobs. And
of course, Zeke, the bus driver, who hauled their collective asses
throughout the country, and stuck with us during some pretty hard
times during the tour.
And thanks you's would not be complete without a big Wet One (for the
girls only. for you guys, a Laurel, and Hardy handshake-sorry, saw
Blazing Saddles one too many times) for coming out and seeing us,
your comments, gifts, and love.
We are hoping that we will be able to make the circle around the
country again VERY soon, and make it FINALLY back to California.
--Tom
~~ And so ends the Glam Slam summer of 2001.
For those of you fortunate enuff to catch a portion or 2 of this
tour, count yourselves VERY lucky! You've witnessed history, as it
was.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally the band wishes to thank everyone who attended the shows to
support them. Some wearing their shirts, carrying banners and
anything related to them to show their support including the cost of
admission to see them play for just half an hour. They met a lot of
familiar faces as well as new ones and had a blast playing to large
crowds and gaining new support from concert goers that did not know
of them previously. For me I know the tour has helped the band
because we have picked up so many new subscribers and I thank you for
that!
And as a closing thought Chip wanted me to relay to everyone his
famous quote, "May the best thing that happened to you last year be
the worst thing that happens to you this year."
